Members depend on SCACPA to be the strongest voice for the profession in the State, to protect and to promote the value of the CPA credential. We do this with an eye on the future, always looking beyond the status quo to identify new ways of providing value to our members.

Executive Committee
The role of the executive committee is to act on behalf of the Board during the interim time between Board meetings. The committee is comprised of the Board Officers and the CEO. This committee provides a conduit between the membership and the SCACPA staff.

David has over 25 years of experience as a CPA in South Carolina and North Carolina. He began his career at Arthur Andersen and then spent almost a decade as CFO of a $100 million homebuilding company before starting his own small CPA firm in Rock Hill, which provides tax, audit and advisory services for individuals, privately owned businesses and nonprofit organizations. David also specializes in litigation support services and has testified in federal court. David’s leadership has assisted multiple public and nonprofit boards. He volunteered as a leader with the Boy Scouts of America for over 25 years and publishes regularly for an international photography society. David earned a B.S. in Business Administration and a Master of Accounting degree from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Allen has more than 30 years of experience in accounting, business, finance and tax matters. He began his career with an International CPA firm, has served as the corporate controller of a large textile company and as the CFO of a national industrial company. In January 2013, he acquired a Greenville CPA practice which he operated as its sole owner until merging it into Stokes & Company CPAs in January 2018. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Holly, his children and grandchildren and is an active community leader, serving on the boards of multiple organizations.

Brad serves a wide range of industries, including Healthcare, Manufacturing, Construction, Service, and others. The level of positions Brad supports range from Staff to CFO. Brad has served on many non-profit boards and industry associations. He is actively involved in community organizations and has served on the IMA Carolinas Council, as President of the IMA and as a Loaned Executive for United Way.

The Board of Directors is the governing body of SCACPA. Board members are responsible for overseeing the Association’s activities and act as liaisons to chapter leadership. The SCACPA Board is comprised of members throughout the state with a diverse set of skills and talents that represent the diversity of our membership.

Baker earned his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina Aiken, his Master of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina, and his Doctor of Business Administration from Kennesaw State University. He is a Certified Management Accountant, a member of the AICPA and the Institute of Management Accountants. He currently serves as the South Carolina delegate on the AICPA Governing Council. He served as SCACPA President for the 2011 year. He had a successful career in Public Accounting and consulting for more than 20 years before pursuing a second career in academia.

Trent holds a Bachelor of Business Administration- Accounting from Georgia Southern University where he was also active in the Accounting Association, Iota Phi Theta Fraternity and the National Association of Black Accountants. He began his accounting career in the banking sector beginning with Wells Fargo and later moved to BB&T. He has been responsible for a wide range of accounting responsibilities in both the consumer finance and manufacturing industries and is currently an Account Payables Manager with Techtronic Industries, an over $32 billion manufacturer of consumer products under multiple brands including Milwaukee, Ryobi, Homelite, Hoover, Oreck and others. Trent is also the owner of a Coleman & Company, through which he provides accounting services for both small businesses and individuals in the Upstate of South Carolina.

Dwayne began his career with Arthur Andersen LLP and spent approximately 15 years in public accounting. In 2015 he took a position with the South Carolina Board of Accountancy and since March 2019 has served as Director of Quality Assurance & Training for the South Carolina Office of the State Auditor. There he is responsible for all areas of quality control and technical research for the State Agency and Medicaid Divisions, and is also responsible for coordinating training agency-wide. Dwayne is a graduate of the College of William and Mary, with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, with a Master of Science in Accounting.

Lesley’s experience spans nonprofit and governmental audits in a variety of roles. She does not, however, measure her success by the quantity of engagements but rather by the quality of her service. Her goal is to leave each client with a full understanding of how her work can translate into meaningful success for their businesses or confident assurance in their lives. Additionally, Lesley has been deeply involved with SCACPA, most notably serving as Chair of the Board in 2021-22.

Doug’s extensive professional background ranges from serving as an auditing and business accounting manager at a global CPA firm, to CFO of a SC statewide nonprofit organization, to currently owning and managing Doug Snyder CPA. Doug also spends professional time as a speaker and author. As well, he has spent decades as a volunteer and community leader. He currently serves on the board of multiple organizations, and is an Emeritus Member on The Citadel’s governing board, to which he was originally appointed in 1996 and served as Chairman from 2008 – 2012. Doug has been married to Julianne Farnsworth for over 34 years. They love being together and traveling with their twins, Elizabeth and Manning.

Marcus is a CPA and serves as vice president – finance for South Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance in Cayce. Prior to joining Farm Bureau, he spent over 15 years working in public accounting. He has been active with the Central Chapter of SCACPA, including serving on its leadership team. Marcus also stays involved in his community, serving on the boards of multiple organizations. He resides in Lexington, and when he is not at work, you will find him spending time with his wife, Kelly, and their children.

She serves as staff liaison to the Educational Fund Board. She has over 25 years of accounting and finance experience working with both nonprofit and for profit organizations.
